April 1, 2012

No fooling! A new month, and 2 new ereaders for me. I just had a birthday! So I got myself a brand new Sony PRS T1 reader. I rooted it to Android, but even though I can read mobi on it, I like the way Calibre loads it, and Calibre only wants to put epubs on the Sony. So I'll just do lots of conversions. I'm working on loading...only up to H. (Going A to Z).

Then Amazon had a sale I couldn't resist, and I got a brand new refurbished Kindle Fire! I like it WAY more than I could have imagined. I even like it to read on! Was gonna give it to the kids....until I got it. MINE!

So books for March.....

The Wedding Runaway by Karen King. Historical romance. Paperback. Final story in the trilogy, not quite as good as the first two. The angst was dragged out too much. Still it was well written and I enjoyed it. 4 stars.

The O'Brien Way by Carol Lynne. MM contemp, ebook. #21 in the Cattle Valley saga. Pretty good. 3.5 stars.

Ghost From the Past by Carol Lynne. MM contemp, ebook. #22 in the Cattle Valley saga. I liked it. 4 stars.

Demonic by Sherri Whitefeather. PNR, paperback. A story about 3 sets of characters, interwoven. Well written, entertaining, hot sex scenes. 4 stars.

Simon Says by Lora Leigh, extremely short story set in the Breeds world but not about Breeds. Simon is a coarse, abrasive character, but I loved him. 4 stars.

Legally Bound by Rynne Raines, contemp, KLL ebook. Good BDSM story. 3.5 stars.

Red's Wolf by PJ Schnyder, PNR, ebook loan. It was all right, nothing to get excited over. 3 stars.

Enslaved by a Viking by Delilah Devlin. Futuristic, print/ebook. How could I not love a store about Vikings in outer space?? It was really good, well written, interesting, complex. 4.5 stars.

Below by Kaitlyn O'Connor. Scifi erotica, ebook. Short but really good. I would like a sequel. 4 stars.

Taste Me by Tamara Hogan, PNR, paperback. Good story overall, though I had some issues with odd time jumps. And the man was a flaming idiot. Loved the heroine though. I want to read the next book. 3.5 stars.

The Pleasure Girl by Jan Springer, futuristic erotica. ebook. Good story. Scorching hot sex. Good editing. Not a lot of emotional connection between characters, a little more depth would have been nice. But still, worth a read. 3 stars.

Forbidden by Helen Kirkman, historical, print. It was good, but not great. I had some issues with how the characters behaved. 3 stars.

A Solid Core of Alpha by Amy Lane. Sci-fi mm, ebook. WOW! What a fantastic story. I absolutely LOVED it. 5 stars.

Talnut by JH Wear. Scifi. print. The cover is so gorgeous! And that is the best thing I can say about this story. 1.5 stars.

Deadline by Mira Grant. Zombie story. ebook. OMG this book was SO good. I can't wait for the next, it's pre-ordered to download to my 3G Kindle while I am out of town, on June 1st, so I can start it on vacation! 5 stars!!!

The Outcast by Jayelle Drewry, PNR erotica, print. To be honest, the sex scenes were SO SO SO long I ended up skipping them. And they were more than 50% of the book. But the parts I actually read were good. 3 stars.

Mikayla's Men by Abby Blake, futuristic erotica, ebook. This is a Siren book, and you never know with those. This one I found to be very good and well written. However, the title shows 8 men, and the series name is A Bride for Eight Brothers. But there are only SEVEN brothers. Hello??? Still, it was good. 3 stars.

Go-Go Girls of the Apocalypse by Victor Gischler, Armageddon story, print. It was...good. The main character was a fool. But it was interesting enough to keep me reading til the end. 3 stars.

And that brings me up to today. I am reading Dark Fire by Feehan on my Sony, and The Living Dead Boy and the Zombie Hunters on my Kindles.
