I love my Sony T1 ereader!

I do. I just love my Sony T1. I have a black one, which I put a simple root on. I did so for a variety of reasons, and I am happy with it. I currently have close to 3000 books on it. I put in a 2gig SD card, but there are no books on it yet.

I finally got all my settings in Calibre right, so now when I tap Books, or Collections and then view the books in the collection, the title is listed, and below is the author (last, first) and the series and #. Wow! That is fantastic! SO much better than my Kindles!

I like the Sony so much, in fact, that I bought another one! This one is not rooted. I love it! The books appear as described above. There is a known issue of fonts not showing the formatting, unless you stick to the Original font. It actually shows real page numbers, though! On my rooted one, it shows page numbers and the percentage read, which I really like, but they are not "real" page numbers. That one has over 400 books on it. Also a 2 gig card.

My Sony T1's are fantastic! I would recommend them to anyone looking for an ereader, and that extends to the new T2 as well, which is essentially the same device.

In contrast, I played with a working demo of a Kindle Touch for about 5 mintutes last week (most stores have non-working demos!) and I didn't like it. No buttons, no thanks. I like everything about my Sony better. The only thing Amazon does better is the archive of personal documents. However THAT leads to problems, hence me having two accounts with a Kindle on each....and a major reason why I chose the Sony over the Kindle Touch. The Sony is so much better. Of course the Amazon ebook store is superior! But if one knows how to put an Amazon book on a non-Amazon device, that is not a problem.

Anyway I was glad to find an open box (i.e. brand new) red Sony T1 for $85, and bought it instantly. Totally worth it having two of these babies. I've got erotica, paranormal romance and UF on the black one. I've got SF, Fantasy, romance suspense, contemp romance, historical romance and m/m romance on the red one.

One of these days I'll have to try a library loan on the Sony.

Still waiting to see if Amazon releases a Kindle touch with a HD screen resolution. I think I am done for buying ereaders this year, though! I got the black Sony for my birthday in March, followed by a Kindle Fire (who can resist $139 refurb from Amazon?). And now the red one. Plus my two Kindle Keyboards, one of which I don't use much at all.

August 3, 2012

I am so pleased with myself. I took the first book I wrote and converted it to mobi in Calibre, and sent it to my Kindle. Now, for my own reading pleasure, I see my book with my name in the author column! Cool! Now to read it. I wonder what I will think of it, since I haven't looked at it in about 8 years.

The SD card on my Sony is nearly full! I think there are 2 GB left. Guess I should have gotten that 32 GB card after all. Not going to worry, since I have 2 Kindles and contemplating a third (though may sell one of the keyboards if I get a touch).

Books read in July:

Fury (New Species 1) by Laurann Dohner. Erotic scifi. What a really good book! I enjoyed it from beginning to end. Fast paced and well plotted 5 stars!

Frostbite (Vampire Academy 2) by Richelle Mead. YA PNR. Really good! 5 stars.

King of Cups by Bianca D'arc. Book 2 in the Arcana series. I liked it, but not as well as the first story. 3 stars.

No Escape (Trek 4) by Jaid Black. Much better than #5, which I read out of order. 4 stars.

Sage (Firewalkers 2) by Shiloh Walker. I really liked it, and hope there will be more in this series! 4 stars.

Demand to Submit (Chains of Love 2) by Jaci Burton. Flimsy romance, flimsy plot. 2 stars.

Slave to Sensation (Psy-Changelings 1) by Nalini Singh. Excellent! Looking forward to reading more. 4 stars.

Lover Eternal (Black Dagger Brotherhood 2) by JR Ward. OMG!!! Totally awesome!! 10 stars!!!

San Diego 2014: The Last Stand of the California Browncoats by Mira Grant. A fantastic story in Mira's zombie world. Only problem, I would like to see this developed into a full length novel. 5 freaking stars.

Taken by Passion by Jaymie Holland. I forgot that this is also King of Hearts by Cheyenne McCray. It didn't interest me much, and I skipped the middle. I seriously doubt I will read the rest. 3 stars for effort.

Redemption (Penton Legacy 1) by Susannah Sandlin. Kindle lending book. Wow! What a gem! I loved it, it was SO good. Looking forward to the next! 5 stars.

The Abandoned by Amanda Hocking. A very short prequel story. I really liked it. Hope the series is good, too! 3 stars.

Dementia (Trek 5.5) by Jaid Black. It was interesting, at least. 3 stars.

Sin's Daughter by Eve Silver. A very short prequel to a series. It was very good. 4 stars.

Never a Slave (Trek 7) by Jaid Black. Pretty short, but good. 3 stars.

Seducing the Sheikh (Men in Love 5) & To Bed a King (MIL 6) by Carol Lynne. I liked them both very much! 4 stars to each.

Lover Awakened (Black Dagger Brotherhood 3) by JR Ward. Another OMG book. I LOVED it. 10 freaking stars! True.

Completing the Circle (Men in Love 4) by Carol Lynne. This one was ok, the "flow" was a little off. 3 stars.

The Soldier and the Baby by Anne Stuart. A 1995 Harlequin that was absolutely great. 5 stars!

That brings me up to date. So many books to read!
