December 2012

I'll try to make an ongoing post for the month.

Books I've finished:

Abducting Alice by Angela Castle. Erotic SFR. Short story. Interesting beginning, tons of sex, and a predictable ending. 2.5 stars.

Alien Mate by Eve Langlais. Erotic SFR. Short story. I liked this one much better than the above. 3 stars.

A.D. 2203 Adam & Eve by Ravyn Wilde. PNR short story from the anthology Tales From the Temple I.  This little story was excellent! It was the first I've read by the author, and it won't be the last. 4 stars.

12/17/12 update

Washed Up by Viola Grace. Very short SFR. Also very good.  It takes skill to write a good story in 25 or so pages! 3 stars

Micro Lena by Viola Grace/ Very short SFR. 4 stars.

The Scientist and the Supermodel by Tara Lain. MM contemp romance. Strange story, the guy was just so confused. 3 stars.

Dead Spots by Melissa Olson. PNR. KOLL book from November. Awesome book. Looking forward to the next. 5 stars.

Moon's Web by Adams & Clamp. Tales of the Sazi #2. PNR/UF? More UF, this book. It was good. 4 stars.

The Strain by Chuck Hogan an Del Torro. Horror (vampire). Really awesomely done. Loved it. That said, don't know if I'll ever read the rest of the series. 5 stars.

Wolf Queen by Stormy Glenn. PNR erotica. Not too bad. 3 stars.

The Leopard Prince by Elizabeth Hoyt. Historical romance. Very good. 4 stars.

Dawn's Awakening by Lora Leigh. A breed's story. Erotica. It was very good. What I really want to know, is who was that mystery shooter? And when is Cassie getting a story? 4 stars.

12/21/12

Luke and Jezebel (AD 2203 #2) by Ravyn Wilde. Full length paranormal erotica. Really enjoyed this, great world building and characters. 4 stars.

Escaping Lightning by Viola Grave. Very short SFR. Good! 4 stars.

Three Days to Dead by Kelly Meding. Urban fantasy. Excellent first book in a series. Loved the world building, and the character Evy was great. 5 stars.

Dragon Heat by Allyson James, PNR. Very good blend of dragons, witches, demons, magic, Chinese....you name it! 4 stars.

Maiden Flight by Bianca D'arc....dragon erotica. This was the re-issued story. I have read both, can't really tell, at this point, a few years later, what differences there might be between the two versions. But I really liked it. 4 stars.

Jennifer's Lyon by Lizzie Lynn Lee (38 pg erotica) kind of bizarre, but fun. 3 stars.

Mask of the Overlord by Viola Grace (22 pg SFR). Ah...really good but too short. I wanted to read more! 4 stars.

The Pleasure Bot by Delilah Devlin, futuristic erotica. I didn't think I was going to like this, at first it seemed like just another sex story. But it turned out to be pretty good, and I was glad I stuck to it. 4 stars.

Rocky by Bianca D'arc. Tales of the Were #4. PNR. What a sweet story! I just loved it, but then I am a sucker for babies in danger. I have a feeling there will be people who don't like it much, but I did. 4 stars.

Downtime by Tamara Allen, time travel mm - really great story, Loved it, well-written, and a happy ending! 5 stars!

November 2012 Books

Books I read or finished during the month of November.

Willing Submission by Evangeline Anderson. Short erotica. Hot. 3 stars.

Blade's Decree by Elayne Venton (Bonds of Justice 1). Erotic SFR. Enjoyed it, 3 stars.

Colter's Promise by Maya Banks (Colters 4) CR. Sweet story. Not a whole lot happens. I was hoping for a little more to the story. 3 stars.

7% and Rising by Kim Knox. SFR. Strange story. It was well written but I didn't like it all that much. 3 stars.

The Zoo by Eve Vaughn (Children of the Dust 1). SFR. Short erotica. I liked it a lot. 3 stars.

Punished by Brynn Paulin. Contemporary Erotica. I really liked this one. 4 stars.

Deal with a Dhemon by Viola Grace. SFR. I liked it. 3 stars.

The Rapunzel Factor by Viola Grace. SFR. Good story. 3 stars.

Breeding Ground by Jaid Black. SFR. Started out really good, but crashed and burned like a spaceship on re-entry. 3 stars.

The Factory by Eve Vaughn (Children of the Dust 2). SFR. Really good! 4 stars.

Captives by Aubrey Ross (Enslaved Hearts 1). SFR. I really liked this story. 4 stars.

The Red King by Rosemary O'Malley. Historical MM. *Excellent* Highly recommend. 5 stars.

Running with the Demon by Terry Brooks. Contemporary fantasy? ungn. I had to force myself to finish it, just because. Skimmed a bit. 3 stars. Won't be reading more.

Alien Penetration by Kaitlyn O'Connor (Alien Breeders 1). SFR. Wouldn't really consider this erotica. I enjoyed the story. 3 stars.

The Dragon Who Loved Me by G.A. Aiken (Dragon Kin 5). Fantasy romance? Had a lot of slow, dragging parts, and was too similar to previous books in the series. Good for a few laughs, and plenty of action at the ending. 4 stars.

DNF for the month:
Storm Front by Jim Butcher. Finally decided to give up on it. Just not all that into a male protag.
The Duke is Mine by Eloisa James. I didn't care for the style it was written in, or the brain damaged fiance (who was not the love interest, either). I gave up.
Nurse Bethany in Bondage by Reese Gabriel. Um, really? Creepy. Initial scenes had hotness, but started to get hellish so I quit.
Shell Shocked by Angelia Sparrow. I couldn't get into it.

And one for December:

Rise of the Fallen by Donya Lynne, UF.  What to say about this book......too similar in some ways to BDB.....too many scenes that jarred or didn't make sense, like puzzle pieces that just don't quite fit together. I gave it three stars, and I would be interested in reading a story about Trace.

Sept/Oct 2012 books

Picking up from where I left off Sept 18...and here it is November already...

Enforcer by Lauren Dane. 1st book in the Cascadia Wolves series. Erotic paranormal romance. I really liked the character, Nina. She was great. So many good lines. Strong, funny and smart. 4 stars.

Blood Destiny by Tessa Dawn. 1st in series. Paranormal romance. Fantastic. One of the best books I've read all year. 5 stars.

Arena Station by Viola Grace. Champions of Terra 1. SFR. Good story, but too many errors, which knocked it down a star. 3 stars.

Savage Awakenings by Stephani Hecht. Lost Shifters #3. Paranormal MM romance. Loved it. This is a great series. 4 stars.

C791 by Eve Langlais. Cyborgs #1. Erotic SFR. I really enjoyed this. A few things even surprised me! Good story, and the sex was not overdone at all. 4 stars.

Hard Bitten by Chloe Neill. Chicagoland Vampires #4. Ehh. Finished it, but didn't/don't really care much about the characters anymore. Don't know if I'll read any more of the series. 3 stars.

Carnal Intentions by Stephani Hecht. Lost Shifters #4. Paranormal MM romance. Excellent addition to the series. 4 stars.

F814 by Eve Langlais. Cyborgs#2. Erotic SFR. Great story. Ready to buy the next one 4.5 stars.

Warrior Lover by Marianne LaCroix. It was short, but I liked it. 4 stars.

Resistance by Jan Springer. Outlaw Lovers #5. Erotic SFR. Good story! Glad I got it. Adds a lot to the series. The ending was a little abrupt. The thing with her father at the end was weird. Overall, the story was well done. 4.5 stars.

Winning the Wallflower by Eloisa James. Historical romance novella. Part of a series but really a stand alone. Very good, 4 stars.

WOOL Omnibus by Hugh Howey. SF. OMG this was SO good. Definitely one of the best books I have read all year. The ending was excellent! 5+ stars.

Kiss of Steel by Bec McMaster. Steampunk. Fantastic first novel! I adored it. Well crafted and well executed! I am looking forward to the next in the series! 5 stars.

Hounded by Sadie Hart. Erotic paranormal romance. Skimmed parts. 3 stars.

Don of the Dead by Casey Daniels. UF. 1st in Pepper Martin series. It was all right, nothing really great about it. But it was entertaining. 3.5 stars.

Touched by an Alien by Gini Koch. Kitty #1. SFR. Fantastic and funny! 5 stars.

Rough Surrender by Cari Silverwood. Historical BDSM. Wow this one was SO good. Fantastic. Characters, plot, sex scenes, conflict resolution, all well done. 5 stars.

Claimed by Evangeline Anderson. Erotic SFR. Brides of the Kindred #1. Excellent! Great story, great setting, great alien elements, great sex. The chick's stubborn resistance got on my nerves, but didn't detract from my enjoyment of the story. 5 stars!

Alien Tango by Gini Koch. Kitty #2. SFR. Awesome book. Started out a little slow, but once it picked up, it never slowed down. Loved it! 5 stars.

Oh one more....it's not on goodreads so I forgot. Read it yesterday. Dante's Mirror by Scott Lane. Erotic PNR.  My comments: it starts out with some hot (rough) sex and an interesting story. But once the mirror comes into the story it gets really weird. The mirror is like a gateway to hell or something. Then the woman gets all hypnotized by it or something, I started skimming at that point for a little bit. Then at the end, the finale was fine, but, not good enough. I mean (spoiler) she still has the mirror, just keeps it covered up? Huh? And then her man seemed like a weenie at the end, too, not at all like he was at the beginning. Ok there should have been some character change but that much? err. AND it was one of those books, where if I didn't already know, I would KNOW, that it was written by a man. I could really tell. That is why I don't often read books by men. There is a difference and I don't like it.

That brings me up to date. I had some DNF (did not finish) books during this period and they were:
Safe With Me by Shaina Richmond (predictable and not to my taste)
To Catch a Rogue by Amanda McCabe (KLL book of Oct-boring)
Ghosts of Alcatraz by Carol Lynne (reviews turned me off)
Dearly Departed by Lia Habel (a teenager falls in love with a zombie...uhg)
I have no plans to finish any of them.

Struggling to finish these:
Storm Front by Jim Butcher (lots of people like the series....)
Running with the Demon by Terry Brooks (not all that interesting, but....)
Shell Shocked by Angelia Sparrow (soon to be marked DNF)

Currently have quite a few books going:
Blade's Decree by Elayne Venton. Erotic SFR. So far, so good.
The Duke is Mine by Eloisa James. Historical romance. They style is annoying me.
Dead Spots by Melissa Olson is my November KLL, haven't started it yet.

So many books, never seem to get to the ones on my lists....

August Books 2012

A little behind here so I'll be brief. Books read in August 2012. I'll make note of anything I remember.

Completing the Circle by Carol Lynne. Kind of romantic suspense erotica, not m/m. It was a good 3 star read.

The Soldier and the Baby by Anne Stuart. A 1995 category romance. It was very sweet, and had a baby in it, lots of action, too. Loved it! 5 stars.

In the Darkest Night by Patti O'Shea. Paranormal romance. Book 4 in the series, but would do fine as a stand-alone. 4 stars.

Besieged by Jaid Black. Erotica. Book 1 in the Viking series. I read these out of order. I really enjoyed this one. 4 stars.

Miss Minnie and the Brass Pluggit by Sahara Kelly. Steampunk romance. This was, at times, extremely funny. It was a clever book. I loved it! 4.5 stars.

Wonderful by Jill Barnett. Historical Romance. Absolutely Fantastic. Loved every bit of it. 5 stars.

Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer. Kids book. It was fantastic! 4 stars.

One Foot in the Grave by Jeaniene Frost. Paranormal romance. 2nd book in series. Really good book. Didn't care for Cat's behavior at times. Hope she grows up soon. Good ending. 4 stars.

Flicker by Viola Grace. SFR. 1st book in the Terran Times series. But I didn't realize that a different series should be read first. It was short but good. 3 stars.

Wyoming Triple Heat by Delilah Hunt. Erotica. It was good. 3 stars.

The Spawning by Kaitlyn O'Connor. SF erotica. Book 2 in the series. Really, really, really loved it. (Big fan of the author). 5 stars!

Dragonquest by Anne McCaffrey. SF/fantasy. I liked it. 4 stars.

Infected: Prey by Andrea Speed. PNR m/m. I only read half of this 2-novella book. It wasn't bad, but I don't know that I will read any more in the series. 3 stars.

Pleasure Unbound by Larissa Ione. PNR. 1st book in the series. LOVED those men. Didn't care for any of the women. World building, storyline, loved all of that. Loved Dr E and the brothers. 4 stars.

Creation's Control by Marie Harte. SFR erotica. An m/m story in a non-m/m series, it was really good. I loved the romance between the 2 men. 4 stars.

My Life as a White Trash Zombie by Diana Rowland. This was really good! And at times hysterically funny! I am looking forward to reading more. 4 stars.

Defiant by Pamela Clare. Historical Romance. 3rd in the series, takes place during the French and Indian War. Fantastic book in EVERY way. Consider me a huge fan of Pamela Clare. 5 stars.

Bodies of Light by Lisabet Sarai. SFR. Short story. I loved the scifi setting and the sex was hot! 4 stars.

SEPTEMBER 2012 so far...

I'll Be Slaying You by Cynthia Eden. PNR. Very good. 4 stars.

Seria's Star Warrior by Reese Gabriel. Book 2 in More Than Male. Very good, 4 stars.

Bloodstained Oz by Christopher Golden. I didn't like it much. 2 stars.

Dragonsong by Anne McCaffrey. SF/fantasy. Menolly's story! Really good. 4.5 stars.

Primal Passions by Stephani Hecht. Lost Shifters #1. PNR m/m. Really enjoyed this. 4 stars.

When Beauty Tamed the Beast by Eloisa James. Historical Romance. Absolutely Loved it! 5 stars.

Brent the Heart Reader by Wynn Wagner. m/m. I liked it, though it was really heavy on the new age theme. 4 stars.

Surviving September 11th by Dan Holdridge. I really enjoyed the part about the attack and the immediate aftermath. The story of the later years got a bit boring. 3 stars.

Blood Red Road by Moira Shine. Post apocalyptic. Really good, though I dislike present tense narration. 4 stars.

The Claiming of Moira Shine by E.A Everaux. Futuristic erotica. This was really good. Though long and complicated, it never got dull. I loved the slow building romance. Fantastic story. 5 stars.

The Baddest Virgin in Texas by Maggie Shayne. Book #2 in the Texas Brands. Really nice story, 3.5 stars.

A Feral Christmas by Stephani Hecht. PNR m/m. Lost Shifters #2. Loving this series. 4 stars.

No Peace for the Damned by Megan Powell. UF. KOLL book of the month. LOVED it. Really interesting. I really liked the character Magnolia. Looking forward to book two. 5 stars.

I love my Sony T1 ereader!

I do. I just love my Sony T1. I have a black one, which I put a simple root on. I did so for a variety of reasons, and I am happy with it. I currently have close to 3000 books on it. I put in a 2gig SD card, but there are no books on it yet.

I finally got all my settings in Calibre right, so now when I tap Books, or Collections and then view the books in the collection, the title is listed, and below is the author (last, first) and the series and #. Wow! That is fantastic! SO much better than my Kindles!

I like the Sony so much, in fact, that I bought another one! This one is not rooted. I love it! The books appear as described above. There is a known issue of fonts not showing the formatting, unless you stick to the Original font. It actually shows real page numbers, though! On my rooted one, it shows page numbers and the percentage read, which I really like, but they are not "real" page numbers. That one has over 400 books on it. Also a 2 gig card.

My Sony T1's are fantastic! I would recommend them to anyone looking for an ereader, and that extends to the new T2 as well, which is essentially the same device.

In contrast, I played with a working demo of a Kindle Touch for about 5 mintutes last week (most stores have non-working demos!) and I didn't like it. No buttons, no thanks. I like everything about my Sony better. The only thing Amazon does better is the archive of personal documents. However THAT leads to problems, hence me having two accounts with a Kindle on each....and a major reason why I chose the Sony over the Kindle Touch. The Sony is so much better. Of course the Amazon ebook store is superior! But if one knows how to put an Amazon book on a non-Amazon device, that is not a problem.

Anyway I was glad to find an open box (i.e. brand new) red Sony T1 for $85, and bought it instantly. Totally worth it having two of these babies. I've got erotica, paranormal romance and UF on the black one. I've got SF, Fantasy, romance suspense, contemp romance, historical romance and m/m romance on the red one.

One of these days I'll have to try a library loan on the Sony.

Still waiting to see if Amazon releases a Kindle touch with a HD screen resolution. I think I am done for buying ereaders this year, though! I got the black Sony for my birthday in March, followed by a Kindle Fire (who can resist $139 refurb from Amazon?). And now the red one. Plus my two Kindle Keyboards, one of which I don't use much at all.

August 3, 2012

I am so pleased with myself. I took the first book I wrote and converted it to mobi in Calibre, and sent it to my Kindle. Now, for my own reading pleasure, I see my book with my name in the author column! Cool! Now to read it. I wonder what I will think of it, since I haven't looked at it in about 8 years.

The SD card on my Sony is nearly full! I think there are 2 GB left. Guess I should have gotten that 32 GB card after all. Not going to worry, since I have 2 Kindles and contemplating a third (though may sell one of the keyboards if I get a touch).

Books read in July:

Fury (New Species 1) by Laurann Dohner. Erotic scifi. What a really good book! I enjoyed it from beginning to end. Fast paced and well plotted 5 stars!

Frostbite (Vampire Academy 2) by Richelle Mead. YA PNR. Really good! 5 stars.

King of Cups by Bianca D'arc. Book 2 in the Arcana series. I liked it, but not as well as the first story. 3 stars.

No Escape (Trek 4) by Jaid Black. Much better than #5, which I read out of order. 4 stars.

Sage (Firewalkers 2) by Shiloh Walker. I really liked it, and hope there will be more in this series! 4 stars.

Demand to Submit (Chains of Love 2) by Jaci Burton. Flimsy romance, flimsy plot. 2 stars.

Slave to Sensation (Psy-Changelings 1) by Nalini Singh. Excellent! Looking forward to reading more. 4 stars.

Lover Eternal (Black Dagger Brotherhood 2) by JR Ward. OMG!!! Totally awesome!! 10 stars!!!

San Diego 2014: The Last Stand of the California Browncoats by Mira Grant. A fantastic story in Mira's zombie world. Only problem, I would like to see this developed into a full length novel. 5 freaking stars.

Taken by Passion by Jaymie Holland. I forgot that this is also King of Hearts by Cheyenne McCray. It didn't interest me much, and I skipped the middle. I seriously doubt I will read the rest. 3 stars for effort.

Redemption (Penton Legacy 1) by Susannah Sandlin. Kindle lending book. Wow! What a gem! I loved it, it was SO good. Looking forward to the next! 5 stars.

The Abandoned by Amanda Hocking. A very short prequel story. I really liked it. Hope the series is good, too! 3 stars.

Dementia (Trek 5.5) by Jaid Black. It was interesting, at least. 3 stars.

Sin's Daughter by Eve Silver. A very short prequel to a series. It was very good. 4 stars.

Never a Slave (Trek 7) by Jaid Black. Pretty short, but good. 3 stars.

Seducing the Sheikh (Men in Love 5) & To Bed a King (MIL 6) by Carol Lynne. I liked them both very much! 4 stars to each.

Lover Awakened (Black Dagger Brotherhood 3) by JR Ward. Another OMG book. I LOVED it. 10 freaking stars! True.

Completing the Circle (Men in Love 4) by Carol Lynne. This one was ok, the "flow" was a little off. 3 stars.

The Soldier and the Baby by Anne Stuart. A 1995 Harlequin that was absolutely great. 5 stars!

That brings me up to date. So many books to read!

July 4, 2012

Ok, just finished book one in KMM's Fever series. What a NOT ending. How annoying. I am going to have to read book 2 very soon. In the mean time, I am reading Fury by Laurann Dohner, and it's pretty good.

Some recent reads:

Something This Way Wicked Comes, an anthology, paranormal/erotica. It was really good! It is rare that I like every story in an anthology. This one was definitely an exception. 5 stars!

Out of Sight by Cherry Adair. On the edge of your seat romantic suspense. Fast paced and well written. 5 stars.

Wolf Tales 12 by Kate Douglas. Last in the series! Erotica. Loved it, though it did drag a little here and there. 4 stars.

Riding the Line by Kate Pearce. Contemporary romance. This was really well done. 4 stars.

Darkever by Karen Marie Moning. Urban fantasy. It was good, but I didn't appreciate the non-ending. 4 stars.

June 18, 2012

I read the August Trilogy by Lora Leigh and they were all really good. 4 stars, 5 stars and 5 stars. Then I re-read the little story that was published later to wrap things up. Good!

Read Where Have All the Cowboys Gone by Kate Pearce. It is an erotic contemporary romance. It was quite good. 4 stars. Then I read what was supposed to be book 2 in the series, Roping the Wind, but it takes place before the other one. Annoying. It also was not as good. I would have given it 4 stars, but for the abrupt ending. It should at least have had an epilogue to tie up loose ends. So 3 stars.
Where Have all the Cowboys Gone? (Turner Brothers, #1)Roping the Wind (Turner Brothers, #2)

I read/skimmed through Eden's Pass by Kimberly Nee. Historical erotic romance. It was ok. I ended up skipping large chunks just to get through it. I didn't care for the girl much at all. 3 stars. The writing was technically fine, but dull.
Eden's Pass

Two Pigs and a Chicken by Courtney Seligman. Romance. This had a promising beginning. But I ended up having to skip whole chapters to get to the end, and then the end was really dragged out. 2 stars.
Two Pigs and a Chicken

Kitty Goes to Washington by Carrie Vaughn. UF. 2nd in series and really good, fast moving, well written. 4 stars.
Kitty Goes to Washington (Kitty Norville, #2)

She Can Run by Melinda Leigh. Romantic suspense. Kindle lending library selection. I had seen this reviewed on the Amazon Daily Blog. However it wasn't that good. Predictable. Didn't finish.
She Can Run

Accidental Abduction by Eve Langlais. Scifi erotica. This was fall on the floor laughing funny in places. 4 stars.
Accidental Abduction (Alien Abduction, #1)

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling. I enjoyed it. 4 stars.
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (Harry Potter, #2)

The Werewolves of Central Park by Tom Cardamone. Very descriptive mm erotic fantasy. I didn't really like it, very strange style. 2 stars.
The Werewolves of Central Park

Summer is here....

Kids are home from school, and we had a vacation in Ocean City. Got some reading done. Before vacation, I read
Jurassic Park Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton. I really loved it, just as I love all the movies. 5 stars for the book.

During my vacation I read

Lords of the Were (Tales of the Were, #1)Lords of the Were by Bianca D'arc. It was good, but not great. Lots of sex. I liked it enough to give 3 stars. Then I read
Inferno (Tales of the Were, #2)Inferno by Bianca D'arc. Again, 3 stars. I need a Bianca break, I've read so much of hers lately.
Blackout (Newsflesh Trilogy, #3) The book I was SO excited about, Blackout by Mira Grant, I also read. I didn't find it to be as good as the preceding books. The ending was somewhat anti-climactic, to me. Still, a fantastic series. 4 stars.

Stormqueen! (Darkover Series, #2) I read Stormqueen! by MZB and it was all right. This time period is not my favorite. I'll keep reading, in chronological order. There aren't many set in that period. 3 stars.

Hawk's Landing (Cattle Valley, #23)Shooting Star (Cattle Valley, #24) I read the next two stories in my favorite gay soap opera "Cattle Valley" - Hawk's Landing & Shooting Star. Great stories, both. I particularly enjoyed Hawk's Landing, about a trans-gender character. 4 stars to both!

The End of Marking Time I read The End of Marking Time by CJ West. It was very good, well written, good editing, very readable. I hated the ending though and didn't find it completely plausible either. 4 stars.

No Fear (Trek Mi Q'an, #5)I read No Fear by Jaid Black, one of the Trek stories. They are all somewhat bizarre, and not in a stimulating manner. This one was just like the others I've read. 3 stars.

A Soldier's Duty (Theirs Not to Reason Why #1) I finally, after 7 months, forced myself to finish A Soldier's Duty by Jean Johnson. I skimmed huge portions. It was extremely boring. There were some interesting scenes. But overall, I don't recommend it, and don't plan to read the next in the series. 2 stars.

Which brings me to June. I read, finally, (got it 4 years ago) Marly's Choice by Lora Leigh. It was really good. A solid 4 stars. I love Lora Leigh sex! She is really good. Currently reading Sarah's Seduction, and will follow up with the 3rd in series, Heather's Gift, immediately after.

My Summer Goals

I hate the new look of the private blog page. Can't even find where to click to start a new post! Whatever. I found a link for the "old interface" or something and that worked.

So I have taken myself in hand, so to speak, and have committed myself to not joining any games on PBS for the entire summer. That includes Virtual Boxes. It's time to catch up on some series reading! I've made a list (I have always been a list maker) and it contains about 52 titles. That is totally do-able in 3 months' time. Some of them are short stories. So, my goal is not to read anything except books on this list (and additional titles in the same series, if desired) + whatever booksfree brings in the mail (I tried to cancel it but they gave me 3 months at half price. How could I refuse that?)

For the rest of May I need to finish or abandon the 10 books that I have started (some of them, quite some time ago!) Then I may begin my summer reading. Maybe at last I can read some things I have been putting off b/c something new catches my eye, or strikes my fancy, and I diverge from the path!

Anyway I just finished Wolf Hills by Bianca D'arc. First I had to read the preceding 5 stories in the Brotherhood of Blood series. They were ok, nothing great. The last one, Wolf Hills, was pretty good. The best of the series, certainly. I look forward to reading the next one! But now I have to go and read the parallel series, Tales of the Were, which consists of 3 stories. So that is on my summer reading list.

May 8, 2012

Ok, new look here to get used to. Great. Well. Time to catch up on my reading of the last month.

A Moment's Madness by Helen Kirkman, historical romance, started but didn't get too far. It just didn't interest me so I quit! Maybe I'll go back to it. Some day. If I run out of stuff to read
.A Moment's Madness

The Living Dead by and the Zombie Hunters by Rhiannon Frater. A kid's zombie book. I thought it was great! 4 stars. Loved it.
The Living Dead Boy And The Zombie Hunters

Z: Zombie Stories (anthology). The first story, also the longest, was the best. In fact, it was fantastic and extremely well done. It's worth getting hold of this volume just for that one story. The rest of the stories, not so good. None memorable. Many started but not finished.
Z: Zombie Stories

How to Kiss a Hero by Sandy Hingston, historical romance. Excellent. Well written and good story. 4 stars.
School for Scandal: How to Kiss a Hero

Dark Fire by Christine Feehan. #6 in the Dark series. Loved it, though there was some repetitious stuff, she tends to do that a lot in this series. 4 stars.
Dark Fire (Dark, #6)

Sex: Outlawed! by Jan Springer. Really short futuristic erotica. I liked it. 3 stars.
Sex: Outlawed!
